Glencoe Scotland

Evening sun over Glencoe Scotland

Highland mountains!

Waterfall at Glencoe Scotland

We stumbled over this cute waterfall! Even though it was near the street, it was totally peacefull. And since the weather was hot, we splashed about a little in the water. It was beautiful. At the end of the fall the water quite deep and all blue!

Stone Structure

Similar to flowers, I like structures. The structures in the stones are so different from here…

A small stream at Glencoe

To get to this little stream, we almost walked two km from the parking space. It was quite adventurous to walk in the moorland around it, as you never knew how wet the ground was, how many holes you stepped in or how many midges might bite you.

Lochan na h-Achlaise

Lochan na h-Achlaise

This (I think) was Lochan na h-Achlaise (however you pronounce that galish name – actually most of the stuff was absolutely alien to us) It was one of the prettiest place we saw (and I’ve got tons of additional pictures of it…).

Loch Tulla

And Loch Tulla from far away. I don’t know if this actually already belongs to Glencoe, but it’s at the beginning.

Trip to Scotland – Glencoe Area I

When you think of  “Scotland” and you think of Landscapes, it’s most likely the Highlands that which is what you think of.  Actually for us this was the part where we thought – wow  now that’s Scotland. It’s such a beautiful landscape! The first time we drove through Glencoe was on our way to Fort William to catch the Jacobite Steamtrain to Mallaigh. You know, the Harry Potter train. As there were three HP nerds making holiday, it was only natural that we had to go with that train ;D However, the drive through the Highlands was much more impressing, so the way back took us about 4h because we stopped here, and there, and again…
